Daniel L. Young is a Board Certified Criminal Defense Trial Attorney.

He holds a J.D. (law degree) from Baylor University and a Ph.D. from Texas Christian University in English Literature. His undergraduate degree, from The University of Texas at Arlington, is in Biology and Chemistry. His master's degree, also from UTA, is in English.

After completing his law degree, he served as a Briefing Attorney for the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth. Subsequently he was a Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney, handling felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases.

Dan Young defends all state criminal cases in Tarrant and surrounding counties, from Class B Misdemeanors through first-degree Felonies. He has extensive trial experience and frequently handles criminal appeals.

He is the author of the 2009 edition of Knowles Publishing's Texas Criminal Defense Forms Annotated.

Specialty Certification

Only 1% of all licensed active Texas attorneys are Board Certified in Criminal Law.

To become Board Certified in a specialty area, an attorney must have:
-Been licensed to practice law for at least five years;
-Devoted a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years;
-Handled a wide variety of matters in the area to demonstrate experience and involvement;
-Attended continuing education seminars regularly to keep legal training up to date;
-Been evaluated by fellow lawyers and judges;
-Passed a 6-hour written examination.
